Great solution, full of features and very flexible architecture for customization. It has a big community of users who help each other, contribute to the project with code, suggestions, plugins, language packs and themes. Furthermore it has almost hundred solution partners and other developers that can do or assist in customization tasks.

NopCommerce non-transparently and inconsistently uses different license terms, e. g. NP 2.0 on http://nopcommerce.codeplex.com on the one hand and NPL 3.0 on http://www.nopcommerce.com on the other hand.

nopCommerce is a true opensource e-commerce project. Its not just best and easy to use. Its easy to customize and extend as well. We have used other opensource products as well.. and found that nop team is maintaining it in a true open source spirit. Apart from using it as an e-commerce store, you can actually extend it in any way to achieve almost anything you can think of. You open the source code, and you will find that this product is made using the best practices which makes it easy to customize and extend. Thumbs up to the incredible nop team!

Nopcommerce 3.2 is simply the best and most powerful open source shopping cart on the planet. It is the only open source shopping cart application that supports both multi-sites and multi-vendors. Nopcommerce is fast, easy, and fun. I definitely recommend Nopcommerce to anyone who wants to start an online business.

nopCommerce continues to go from strength to strength, it has so many features out of the box - forums, news, polls, multi-store, language packs, multi-drop, multi-currency, the list is endless really. It is easy to customise and has a fantastic community backed by passionate developers who keep it constantly up-to-date with bugs fixed regularly, and fantastic support from them when you need (paid of course). This is open source software at its absolute best. Why pay for anything else? Don't, it's free! A big THANK YOU to the devs!

!ATTENTION! From now on is Nop Commerce an license Produkt! We also offer a server copyright removal key (one IP address). So if you purchase this license for IP 210.111.222.333, then you can remove "powered by nopCommerce" on all sites which could be accessed using this IP address. It cost $1,500. Please contact us if you're interested in purchasing of such key..
by PPasalt on Jan 28, 2014 at 5:23 AM
What does this "fake" message mean? We offer wildcard server licenses based on IP address (http://www.nopcommerce.com/copyrightremoval.aspx). But how are you related to this offering?

Nice software. However it has few disadvantages: - missing invoices (it has only orders in status - completed) - bad management of task/bug approvals by owner of product - bad paypal implementation (recurring items, few bugs etc.)
by hkusulja on Mar 21, 2014 at 1:13 PM
Thanks a lot for your review. Regarding task/bug approval. Everthing is fine here - if a reported bug really exists, then it's always fixed as soon as possible (please post it on our forums for more info). Regarding invoices. It's supported (please post it on our forums for more info). Regarding paypal implementation. According to your review here (http://www.nopcommerce.com/p/1149/paypal-express-payment-plugin.aspx) you mean a third-party (!!!) plugin. But we (nopCommerce team) did not develop it. I highly reccomend you contacting its author regarding any further suggestions/issue about this particular plugin

Every single feature is more a thought then a feature itself. Means the developers thought of a nice feature but implemented them with the least effort possible.

Too slow and it's getting slower the more products you add. It's unusable with more then 500 products...

This app isn't usable in the real world as it has to many performance issues. I've decided to work with SmartStore.NET now, an official fork of nopcommerce.
by Oleg1506 on Mar 17, 2014 at 6:09 PM
Girl, you already was taken to the court for violation of our license terms (http://www.nopcommerce.com/boards/t/24760/smartstore-rejected-to-meet-nopcommerce-license-terms-lets-discuss.aspx). So please stop crying here. It won't help you.

It's my idea : nop has very ugly interface in user & admin area . it's too slow . Theme Supporting is very bad ... the companies that create themes , the themes is very ugly ! must see the other application like this , everyone is better than it . but I hope to find .net app for my shopping site , when i saw this , i'm disappointed. when i compare this application with other with php language , the php's so better ! I'm very sorry for .net developers .

It's too slow and has too many flaws to use it in a productive environment.

NopCommerce has really bad code quality and too much redundant code!

Be aware that this is not Open Source as other software like Magento. They mean this as an open source in a way that you can download and open the source code to see the code, that’s all. You can’t customise and develop it in a different path you like. You need to pay for documentation, powered by removal or even to change the code the way you want. Claiming to be open source and free is totally and utterly misleading the public. You should put “GPLv3 License plus the "powered by nopCommerce" text requirement on every single page plus additional nopCommerce terms” and http://www.nopcommerce.com/licensev3.aspx in the project description along with free claims at the top. Have a look at their additional nopCommerce terms! Stupid bunch of morons! They also keep copying the ideas from Magento, most recent example is multi store & multi site. If you want a good really open source fully featured e-commerce software use Magento: http://magento.com/products/overview#community. It can run in any windows or Linux computer.

Actually that's absolutely wrong. You can customize it for any needs. We have more than 15,000 live shops. Just have a look at our showcase - http://www.nopcommerce.com/showcaseliveshops.aspx. So stop these misleading "reviews"... and of course, our community knows who wrote this "review". it's one of German companies that made a derivative work without meeting our license terms (and already has been taken to court for that). That explains everything.

Might be nice but it's almost unusable because of its license. You have to write powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce powered by nopCommerce EVERYWHERE This is NOT OpenSource

Why do you proclaim this to be open source when you accuse forkers of being thieves? You should remove this from CodePlex and start selling it as proprietary software.
by KSali on Jan 20, 2014 at 6:48 PM
Because it's licensed under open-source license. And anybody is allowed to create a fork. Just meet our license terms. P.S. SmartStore, your comments change nothing. You're thieves and should meet our license terms!
